Alegre Park, developed in 1999, was originally named Don Carlos Park. The children of Thew Elementary School, home of the Bulldogs, voted to name the new park, Alegre.
When translated, Alegre means 'happy' or 'cheerful'.
Park is 3 acres in size.

Rubberized Playground Surface
The central element of this design is a hummingbird coming out from the sunrise hours that is represented among the circles and colorful wildflowers. There are people in a form that remind us of the petroglyphs as a representation of the many cultures that live in the neighborhood, and in this case, they are dancing, playing and being proud of themselves.
