Walking Mill Avenue - Exhibit Opening at Tempe History Museum

Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Saloons of the 1890s' equipped with horse-parking, Gila monster hotel fights and parades that embraced diversity long before Tempe was a city or Arizona a state. Discover these stories and many more at Tempe History Museum’s new feature exhibit, Walking Mill Avenue, opening on May 14.

Tempe’s Mill Avenue District has always been a place of change, reinvention and even contention. Yet it remains the heart of our community.  In many ways the epicenter of Tempe, the history, people and places of Mill Avenue weave together in complex layers that show us where Tempe has been and where it might be headed.

An opening night celebration for the exhibit will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. The Tempe History Museum is located at 809 E. Southern Ave. Exhibit runs through March 29, 2020.
