Dementia Friendly Tempe Presents: Medical Marijuana and Dementia

  • Date: 06/12/2019 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
  • Location: Tempe Public Library
    3500 S. Rural Road
    Tempe, Arizona 85282
  • Introduction: Join Dr. Walter Nieri from the University of Arizona College of Medicine

Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia are common symptoms in patients with dementia. These behaviors are often characterized by agitation, physical or verbal aggressiveness, restlessness, and inappropriate loudness, such as yelling and screaming. The treatment options for these symptoms are very limited because of the moderate to severe side effects associated with the currently available medications. Join Dr. Walter Nieri from the University of Arizona College of Medicine as he discusses clinical studies that show cannabinoids could have a beneficial effect on behavioral disorders in general, and possibly in dementia-related-disorders.

Lectures are free but please register by calling 602-839-6850 to register or BannerAlz.eventbrite.com
