Public Meeting: University Dr. bike lanes (Priest Dr. to Farmer Ave.)

  • Date: 03/05/2019 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Location: Westside Multi-Generational Center
    715 W. Fifth Street
    Tempe, Arizona 85281
  • Introduction: The City is seeking input regarding whether to leave the bike lane as is (no buffer; 6 ft. wide) or add a 1 foot buffer and reduce the bike lane to 5 ft. between Priest Dr. and Farmer Ave.

In 2015, the City of Tempe completed the University Drive Streetscape Project. The streetscape improvements included a 4-foot bicycle lane with a 2-foot stamped asphalt buffer.  In 2017, as part of a pavement maintenance project the City resurfaced the street, which resulted in removal of the buffer.  The City is gathering input to find out if residents like the existing 6-foot bicycle lane (without a buffer) or if they would like to see a 5-foot bicycle lane with a 1-foot painted buffer.  To comment March 5 - March 19, 2019 please www.tempe.gov/forum
