VISIONS: Exposure - Here and Now

A free exhibition at the U.S. Post Office

VISIONS at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) is a studio-based, art-focused program that involves teens from six school districts across the Valley. New School for the Arts and Academics (NSAA) in Tempe has participated in the program for the last three years. Each year, NSAA faculty choose seven students to participate. They engage in monthly workshops at SMoCA where they work with local and national professional artists. These students bring what they have learned in the program back other students at NSAA and share experiences. The end of the year culminates in an exhibition of their work in SMoCA’s young@art gallery.

Student artworks in this Post Office exhibition are from the 2012-2013 project and have not previously been seen in Tempe. The participation of Tempe students in the Visions program is made possible by support from a grant from the city of Tempe. Other Visions sponsors are Scottsdale Insurance Company/Nationwide Foundation and the Lou and Evelyn Grubb Charitable Fund.
