Museum Volunteer Opportunities for Students

High school and college students work along side museum staff and adult volunteers performing the activities listed below (as available). Volunteers must be able to commit to a set weekly schedule. Schedules are available between 3 and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Expanded opportunities and schedules are available during June and July.)

• Cataloguing, numbering, and housing artifacts
• Photographing artifacts and scanning images into the collections database
• Giving guided tours at the Petersen House Museum
• Giving presentations for educational programs
• Conducting research and oral history interviews
• Constructing and installing new exhibits
• Doing data entry
• Assisting with special events
