Experience
Corps
Looking for a few good Men and Women age 50+
to help change a child’s life
The City
of Tempe has been selected as one of the newest communities to host
Experience Corps, a nationally recognized literacy program. Join a
corps of more than 2,000 volunteers in 22 cities nationwide who are
making a significant impact in their communities. Volunteers provide
one-on-one reading tutoring to struggling students in kindergarten
through third grade. Experience Corps volunteers work in seven
Tempe elementary schools.
Volunteers do not need special skills just a
willingness to share their experience, time and patience. Comprehensive
training, excellent support services and an orientation are provided.
Volunteers need to be able to commit to an entire school year. For more information, call Peggy Goldberg at (480) 858-2465 or email at
peggy_goldberg@tempe.gov . Learn more about Experience Corps
