Maple Ash and Mitchell Park East/West Neighborhood Traffic Calming Project

Residents from the Maple Ash and Mitchell Park East/West neighborhoods are exploring design concepts to help address cut-through traffic and speeding in the neighborhood.  Funding for this project is through the Centerpoint expansion project. Based on neighborhood concerns, project consultant (A Dye Design) has worked with staff to develop initial design concepts, including traffic circles, chicanes and other traffic calming measures. Public comment was taken until Feb. 29, 2008 on the proposed concepts. Staff is in the process of reviewing all the comments and will schedule additional public meetings to determine if temporary traffic calming measures should be implemented.
