8th Street

The purpose of the project is to make streetscape changes to 8th Street between Rural Road and McClintock Drive, including enhanced bicycle and pedestrian facilities, landscaping and on-street parking. Concepts were developed using a local landscape architecture firm working with a stakeholder group consisting of neighborhood chairpersons, property owners, and city staff.

Funding

Funding for this design project is from the City’s transportation study fund and has been allocated because of neighbor and stakeholder/property owner requests to address impacts and changes to land use along 8th Street in recent years. While there is no construction money currently available, the completed design concept would be used to pursue federal transportation grants.
