Connecting
those in need with those who care
Tempe Community Council (TCC) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization
whose mission is
connecting those in need with those who care.
TCC works in partnership with the City of Tempe and community
organizations

surrounding communities.
We do this by being centered on three core areas:

Cinderella Affair |
|
The Cinderella Affair is an all-volunteer project supported by Tempe
Community Council, the City of Tempe and the East Valley Women's League.
It is our mission to make attending prom affordable for all
Phoenix-area high school junior and senior students. The program
was founded in 2002 to assist girls by collecting and distributing
gently-used formalwear. The Cinderella Affair has also provided dresses
for exchange students from the Tempe Sister Cities program, the clients
of the Hacienda de Los Angels, and young ladies participating in the
Miss CHAMPION Pageant.

Communities in Schools |
|
The mission of CIS is to promote
community/school/parent relationships to encourage young people to
stay in school and prepare for life. The philosophy of CIS
is to coordinate efforts through the cooperation of individuals,
organizations and service providers, whose focus is to ensure that every
child has an opportunity to experience success. We have programs
to address any kind of need barring kids from success; parenting
workshops, collecting supplies for students, a teen resource center, and
underage drinking prevention.

Open Horizons |

Open Horizons is a drop out prevention program that provides
quality child care and support to teen parents in the Tempe
Union High School District.
We are a community-based partnership that is funded through donations
from private citizens, churches, small businesses, civic organizations
and corporations. Public child care subsidies offset a large portion of
the cost and student parents are responsible for a small portion of the

Tempe's "Help to Others" |
|
Tempe’s Help to Others (H2O) voluntary utility donation program
makes it easier for Tempe residents to help neighbors in need. A
partnership between the City of Tempe and Tempe Community Council makes
it easy for Tempe water customers to donate a dollar or more per month
to those in need.
Simply add your donation to the Voluntary Donation line on your monthly
water bill. The community deserves the credit for making this program a
success, and we recognize and thank all the citizens who have donated to
the H2O program. 100% of all donations are put back into the community
to help individuals and families with food, clothing, shelter,
counseling services, after-school programs, and a variety of other
services to help people lead happy, healthy, and productive lives.
