Mayor's Awards on Disability Concerns

The City of Tempe Commission On Disability Concerns, in partnership with Tempe Community Council, is pleased to announce that the
2008 Mayor's Disability Awards will take place 
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 3:00-5:00pm
Tempe Center for the Arts.

The purpose of the Disability Awards is to honor those in our community who have overcome significant barriers to succeed in the workplace; as well as those employers and architects who support the full participation of people with disabilities in the workplace and
all aspects of community life.
 

Don Carlos Humanitarian Award

 

 

Named after Tempe’s founder, Charles Trumbull "Don Carlos"
Hayden, the Don Carlos Humanitarian Award is presented
to an individual or couple who has given outstanding service
to our community over an extended period of time, has benefited
the less fortunate in lasting ways, and has made Tempe a better
place to live. The nominee must be a current or former resident of
Tempe
or work in Tempe.


 

   

The 2007 Don Carlos Award Winner is Linda Spears!

 

The 24th annual Don Carlos Humanitarian Award, presented by Tempe Community
Council, honored Linda Spears on September 26th.  Named after Tempe’s founder,
Charles Trumbull “Don Carlos” Hayden, the award is given annually to recognize Tempeans
for outstanding humanitarian service in the community over an extended period of time.
