Food Drive
 

From June 5^th through July 3^rd, Tempe Community Council and the City of Tempe are collecting food in honor of National Hunger Awareness Day on June 6^th, 2006.  In addition, we are collecting summer supplies and hygiene items to help Tempe’s most vulnerable during Arizona’s hot summer months.

Mayor's Disability Awards

Upon request of Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman, TCC staffs the Tempe Commission on Disability Concerns. The Commission works on broad disability concerns including helping plan a handicapped accessible recreation area in Kiwanis Park, and advising the City on Americans with Disabilities Act issues. The committee plans an annual event recognizing outstanding achievements in employment of people with disabilities in Tempe. It is hoped that such acknowledgement will stimulate others to emulate those recognized and to appreciate the positive opportunities of hiring those with physical and mental disabilities. For more information contact Cheryl Hornyan at (480) 858-2310.
