Introduction
Welcome to the All City Athletic Conference. The
newest East Valley athletic conference is a partnership
between Tempe Elementary District #3 and the City of
Tempe Parks and Recreation Department. The vision for
the new athletic conference was shaped by the middle
school athletic directors and staff from Tempe Parks and
Recreation.
Goals
The
foremost goal is to upgrade the athletic and competitive
opportunities for the young student/athletes of the
school district and community. The All City Athletic
Conference (ACAC) has addressed two long-term
concerns associated with middle school athletics. The
first concern – the lack of organized opportunities for
sixth grade students. The second concern – the limited
number of players per team forces, through the process
of team selection, most interested young athletes to the
sidelines.
All City vs Intramurals
Consensus was that the term intramural would not be used
because it may denote, among the kids, a second class or
inferior program. The All City Athletic Conference
(ACAC) will strive to mirror, as close as
possible, the experiences found through the ten school
Tempe Kyrene Athletic Conference that the four Tempe
middle schools are members of. The ACAC teams have paid
coaches, paid officials, uniforms, travel to away games,
awards and are played after school.

Sports Lineup
Each middle school has two sixth grade teams and two
seventh/eight grade teams per sport. Each sport has an
eight-team 6th grade league and an eight-team
7/8th grade league. Teams play a seven-game
schedule with a concluding game against other team from
their school. League
champions receive a championship banner to hang in their
gymnasium.
All
games are played after school, however transportation is
not provided after practices or games to the athlete’s
house. The athletes must be picked up by a parent or
guardian, walk home, or ride the City Bus. Teams
practice one day per week and play one game per week.
