Tempe Police - Polygraph Examination

Once an applicant successfully completes the written test, physical agility evaluation and oral board process, the hiring unit reviews the applicant files again and selects the most qualified candidates to move forward in the hiring process. Simply passing the Written Test, Physical Agility Evaluation, and Oral Board Interview does not guarantee that an applicant will be given further consideration. The most qualified candidates will be invited back for a Polygraph Examination with regard to information provided in the Personal History Questionnaire

The polygraph examinations take place at the main police station located at 120 E. 5th St. Applicants should check in with the receptionist and inform them that they are recruit applicants and that they are scheduled for a Polygraph Examination. As with other portions of the testing process, the applicants will sign in and wait in the lobby for hiring personnel to escort them to the Polygraph Examiner's Office.
