Tempe Police - Written Test

The Written Test is a comprehensive, entry-level, law enforcement examination that measures memory, analytical and logical thinking ability, problem solving and other functions critical to success as a law enforcement officer.  There is no study guide for this test, however, you may find it useful to study material on the Internet (see links below) or from resource books related to entry-level law enforcement testing.  The test will take approximately three (3) hours to complete, so please plan accordingly.  Tests will be scored before you leave for the day and you will be notified of whether or not you passed the Written Test.  In order to pass the Written Test, you must achieve a minimum score of 68. Applicants who pass the Written Test will be placed on an eligibility list for one year and are invited to take the Physical Agility Evaluation.  Applicants who fail the Written Test may re-take the test the next time it is offered.
