The Tempe Police Department will attempt to accommodate out-of-state applicants so we can accomplish as much as possible on your first visit.  This often means taking our Written Test on a Friday, Physical Agility Evaluation on the next day/Saturday, an Oral Board Interview on Monday or Tuesday, and perhaps even a  Polygraph Examination --- all in just 4-5 days.  If you are selected to move forward to the Background Investigation phase and are successful, you would only need to return one time after we have made you a conditional offer of employment and have scheduled you for the Medical Examination and Psychological Evaluation.
