At this time, only applications from CURRENTLY certified "AZPOST" officers will be accepted.

  • Starting July 27th, applications for the position of police officer will be available.  Beginning July 27th they can be downloaded from this website or from the City of Tempe's Human Resources Website @ www.tempe.gov/jobs
 
  • Completed applications are due no later than 5:00pm on Monday, August 10th to the City of Tempe Human Resources Department.  DO NOT TURN IN YOUR APPLICATION TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed nor returned.
 
  • Applicants who are selected to participate in the written exam will be notified in October 2009.
 
  • The written test will take place in November and is by INVITATION ONLY.
 
  • The Tempe Police Department is establishing an eligibility list to fill anticipated vacancies over the next 12 months.  It is unknown how many positions will become available.

Experienced/Lateral Officers: $59,580 - $76,040 (Lateral description)
