Roommates Get Into Fight that Leads to Stabbing

Suspect/Victim #1:  Darnell Smith (Date of Birth 03-05-88)
Suspect/Victim #2:  James Stewart (Date of Birth 10-04-89)

On July 3, 2008 at 12:31 a.m., Darnell Smith and James Stewart became involved in a physical fight in their apartment at 1655 E. University Drive #3040.  During the argument, both Smith and Stewart punched each other numerous times and actively attempted to assault one another.  Smith finally pulled out a knife and cut Stewart in the right arm, causing a small laceration that required stitches.

Smith was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault (Felony 3).  Stewart was treated at a local hospital for his injuries, then arrested and charged with one count of Assault (Misdemeanor 1).
