Suspect Burns Feet After Assaulting Neighbor At Pool Party

Suspect #1:  Christopher Costabile (Date Of Birth 11-13-87)

On June 22, 2008 at 7:40 p.m., Joseph Counts (24 years of age) suffered serious injuries (broken nose and an active brain bleed) as a result of a fist fight he had with Christopher Costabile while at the pool area of the apartment complex located at 5250 S. Hardy Dr.  A witness stated Counts struck Costabile 1 or 2 times before Costabile struck back, however, Costabile continued to strike Counts even after it appeared he was unconscious.  Counts was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he is expected to recover from his injuries.  Costabile, who attempted to flee the area on foot, in bare feet, was detained and had to be transported to County hospital for treatment of second degree burns to his feet which he sustained as a result of running on hot pavement.

Due to the nature of this incident and the conflicting accounts of what occurred, investigation is continuing and exact charges will be determined upon its conclusion.
