Tempe Police Host Back to School Enforcement Safety Campaign

The Tempe Police Department is working in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to kick off the annual “Back to School Safety Campaign” on Monday, August 10, the start of the school year for Tempe Schools.

The Tempe Police Department’s Traffic Bureau will start the campaign at 7:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.

As public safety is our number one concern, the focus of this campaign is to make the streets around Tempe’s schools safer by addressing traffic and parking violations in and around the schools through enforcement and education.

Our hope is that through this education/enforcement campaign, drivers will exercise caution on the roadways around our schools and make smart driving decisions with safety in mind.

The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Tempe Police Department and agencies throughout the State remain committed to making the streets of our communities and our citizens safer.

Thank you for your partnership in getting this important safety message out to the public.  For additional information please contact Sgt. Dale Hoobler at 480-858-6287.
