Petersen House Files

The Petersen House Files contain research notes, copies of documents and newspaper articles, published and unpublished manuscripts, and other materials relating to the Petersen House. Materials are filed according to a list of general topics. The arrangement of subject headings is meant to reflect every aspect of the Petersen House's history.

The Petersen Research Files are organized to facilitate information acquisition.  The PH-100 (Petersen House) series focuses on Niels Petersen.  This area includes biographies, obituaries, and facts on his early life.  The PH-200 series is designed to hold information about the Petersen Ranch Business, as of June 2002 there is little content in this series.  This area can include facts and information about the ranch as economic producer.  The PH-300 series focuses on The Petersen House.  The 300 series focuses on the construction and change over time of the house as an independent entity. The PH-400 series elaborates on Niels & Susanna Petersen.  This series can include information about their lives together and the Victorian era.

Series PH-500 contains information about Edwin & Una Belle Decker and the period they owned the house. Series PH-600 provides information and facts about the Tom Harter Family and their occupancy in the house.  You will find information about the International Order of Odd Fellows in PH-700.  Series PH-800 provides information on the house since the City of Tempe became owner of the house.
