Esquer Park
McArthur Dr. & Lebanon Ln.
3 acres
Esquer Park has been named for the entire Esquer family, who has a long and
storied history in the Tempe community. In 1940, Eduardo and Rita Esquer moved
to Tempe to work the farms in south Tempe in what now is the Lakes Community.
The Esquer’s and their 10 children moved into the Victory Acres neighborhood in
1946 after the subdividing of area following World War II. The family continued
their farm labor work and the children set course for helping make Tempe a
better community with the values instilled into them by their parents.
Today, nearly 300 individuals
are proud to call themselves descendents of Eduardo and Rita Esquer many of whom
still live in Tempe and the Victory Acres neighborhood. Through their
actions, dedication to service to others and outstanding public involvement they
have shaped a better Tempe.
