All residents are encouraged to attend in order to learn how to work together to limit these unwelcome visitors.
For your convenience, personal use bait (pub) stations and bait will be available for sale.

The city is assisting residents interested in learning more about preventing and eradicating roof rats. Residents are reminded to pick up fruit and nuts from the ground, keep garbage containers covered, keep pet waste cleaned from the yard, store bulk foods in sealed, rat-proof containers, keep pet food stored and harvest citrus promptly and completely.

People who suspect that they have roof rats should call Maricopa County Environmental Services Department at 602-506-6616.  After selecting the English or Spanish option, select option 4 "to report a complaint," then press 2 "to file a complaint".  Roof rat sightings can be reported by telephone Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm.  Sightings can also be filed electronically at http://www.maricopa.gov/EnvSvc/Complaints/Forms/ComplaintInput.aspx?category=39, select the "report a complaint" button at the top of the page.  For more information please visit www.maricopa.gov/envsvc/, Arcadia Neighborhood (Phoenix) (including information on citrus donation) or the City of Scottsdale websites..
