Historical Museum Youth Advisory Committee
The Historical
Museum Youth Advisory Committee (HMYAC) brings a
teen perspective to the Tempe Historical Museum.
Teens represent the future of Tempe and it is
important that the museum
includes them in our planning and programs.
The museum strives to provide services that
foster an understanding and appreciation of
Tempe’s unfolding history in a way that teens
find relevant and interesting.
The HMYAC helps the museum
staff to gain teens'
perspectives on their community, its history,
their concerns, and how best to
involve them in the
museum’s programs.
Due to the
closing of the museum for renovations in 2009,
the work of the HMYAC has been put on hold. New
members of the committee will be recruited in
2010.
