J. D. Cooper, a local rancher, built a saloon across from the new railroad depot in 1888. In 1901 the building became a grocery. By 1911 it was being used as a residence. The one-story frame and stucco building had a pitched roof with gable ends, with a gabled porch. The building was demolished about 1983.
