The main house of the Wetmore Ranch was designed by Fitzhugh and Byron, a well-known
Phoenix architectural firm of the period. It was the home of Buel Wetmore, whose family
had been farming in the area since about 1913. The ranch house was a frame and stucco
bungalow, with English cottage features. It had a broad overhanging roof with open eaves
and dormers. Originally, the house had an L-shaped plan, but an addition built in 1930
gave the house a U-shaped plan. Two simple classical columns supported the porch roof. The
house was demolished about 1983.
