Restoring Old Town Tempe
Downtown Tempe went through some tremendous changes in the 1970s
and '80s. While redevelopment caused the demolition of many
older neighborhoods, there were several successful efforts to
preserve and rehabilitate or restore historic buildings in the
downtown area. Restoration gave new life to several familiar
landmarks, including:
