This property was owned by N. E. Funk in 1940, and by Susan E. Guthrie in 1946. This
home is located in the Park Tract subdivision, which was platted in August of 1924. This
home is an example of later infill construction in a developed area. Many lots had
remained vacant from the original subdivision plat. During upswings in the economy, these
lots were built on. The result is a mix of older and newer houses in close proximity.
This house is one of many Bungalows sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. This
building represents one of few exposed brick structures in the neighborhood. The wood
casement windows provide a character-defining detail to this building. The side addition
is very early and sensitive. This building provides a positive contribution to the
historic character of the neighborhood.
