This property was owned by John A. Traynor, 1946-1948. This home is located in the Park
Tract subdivision, which was platted in August of 1924. This home is an example of later
infill construction in a developed area. Many lots had remained vacant from the original
subdivision plat. During upswings in the economy, these lots were built on. The result is
a mix of older and newer houses in close proximity.
This building is a fine example of the Spanish Colonial Revival style.
Character-defining details include wood double-hung windows, tile roofs, and stucco
finish. This building is virtually intact and provides a very positive contribution to the
historic character of the neighborhood. Period Revival houses are very rare in this Tempe
neighborhood.
