Garfield Goodwin Again Heads Beach Committee
Garfield A. Goodwin was re-elected chairman of the Tempe Beach Committee at the
breakfast meeting held yesterday morning at Kelley's Tavern. Victor A. Vogel will again
serve as secretary and treasurer, with Dr. R.J. Stroud, John J. Curry and Kenneth S. Clark
completing the committee membership.
In considering plans for activities during the current year, the group discussed the erection
of a new club house for community use, on ground adjoining the present site on the west.
An indoor pool will be a feature of the new building, according to tentative plans.
It is the intention of the committee to extend the recently constructed wall of rock and steel
enclosing the present ground, to enclose the new addition to Tempe Beach. The new ground
