Petersen House Files
The Petersen House Files contain research notes, copies of documents and newspaper
articles, published and unpublished manuscripts, and other materials relating to
the Petersen House. Materials are filed according to a list of general topics. The arrangement of
subject headings is meant to reflect every aspect of the
Petersen House's history.
The
Petersen Research Files are organized to facilitate information acquisition.
The PH-100 (Petersen House) series focuses on
Niels Petersen. This area includes
biographies, obituaries, and facts on his early life. The PH-200
series is designed to hold information about the Petersen Ranch Business,
as of June 2002 there is little content in this
series. This area can include facts and information about the ranch as economic
producer. The PH-300 series focuses on The
Petersen House. The 300 series focuses on the construction and change over
time of the house as an independent entity. The PH-400
series elaborates on Niels & Susanna Petersen. This series can include
information about their lives together and the Victorian era.
Series
PH-500 contains information about Edwin &
Una Belle Decker and the period they owned the house. Series PH-600
provides information and facts about the Tom Harter
Family and their occupancy in the house. You will find information about
the International Order of Odd Fellows in PH-700.
Series PH-800 provides information on the house
since the City of Tempe became owner of the house.
Subject Headings for the Petersen House Files
The Tempe Historical Museum appreciates the efforts of the members of the Tempe Historical
Society and many volunteers who have helped research and compile the
Petersen House Files.
