Tempe Business Survey

The Tempe Business Survey traces the development of the business district along Mill Avenue from 1892 to 1949, with a chronological history of blocks and buildings. The survey consists of bound notebooks with forms for each building and block maps for each year. There is also an index, with cards listing all information known about particular business, including business name(s), proprietor(s), location(s), dates of operation, changes in ownership or location, key events, and names of individuals associated with the business. Each card also cites the sources used to document the history of the business.

The Tempe Historical Museum appreciates the efforts of the volunteers who have helped compile the Tempe Business Survey.
