Completed in 2002, the Spence Avenue Multi-Use Path connects Rural Road and McAllister Avenue via Spence Avenue. This important link is part of Tempe’s expanding network of bikeways, providing easy bicycle and pedestrian access to local neighborhoods and the ASU campus. 

The Spence path completes a critical link in Tempe’s bikeway plan and offers ASU students, faculty and staff, as well as other non-motorists, with an alternative route for reaching the university and downtown area. The path runs east/west on the Spence Avenue alignment, just south of Apache Boulevard, from Rural Road to McAllister.
