Topographic Maps Printed Single Maps
Where are they?

The printed topographic maps are located in a black fifteen-drawer map cabinet between the Gates Computer Lab and the Adult Spanish Language books. From the Reference Desk, turn to the right towards the wall of computers, then follow that wall around to the left. There are three cabinets in a row; the topographic maps are in the rightmost cabinet.

How do I find one?

Each drawer of the map cabinet of printed topographic maps contains flat sheets of topographic maps. The maps are organized alphabetically by the official US Geological Survey name for the map.

To find a map, click on the part of the Arizona map on the Printed Topographic Maps Index that contains the area you're looking for, then find the name of the map sheet that covers the area. If the sheet is colored green, the Library has the map in the map cabinet; if the sheet is colored gray, then the Library does not own the map. (For other sources of topographic maps, see our Map Collections page.) A map with the names of the topographic maps sheets is also attached to the right side of the map cabinet, but this map does not show which maps the Library owns.

When you're done with a map, simply lay it on top of the map cabinet.

Please do not take maps out of the Library.

Where are they?

The printed single maps are located in a black four-drawer file cabinet between the Gates Computer Lab and the Adult Spanish Language books. From the Reference Desk, turn to the right towards the wall of computers, then follow that wall around to the left. There are three cabinets in a row; the single maps are in the leftmost cabinet.

How do I find one?

Each drawer of the file cabinet of printed single maps contains many green file folders; each folder contains one or more maps. The folders are organized alphabetically by place name or topic.

To find a map, look in the Printed Single Maps Index  for the place name or topic on this page that best matches what you're looking for, then go to the drawer that contains that folder.

When you're done with a map, simply drop it into the wire basket on top of the file cabinet.

Please do not take maps out of the Library.

Can I borrow maps?

Unfortunately, the Library cannot lend maps. There are photocopiers in the Library that can be used to copy maps, including a color photocopier downstairs in the Periodicals section.
