Wireless Internet Access - Windows
This is a two-step process.
1. Determine the operating system
you're using and change your connection settings accordingly.

- Check to make sure you can see the tempecafe as the
wireless access point.
- Click Start, highlight over Settings and open the
Control Panel.
- Double click Network Connections.
- Right click Wireless Network Connection.
- Click on View Available Wireless Networks and
tempecafe should appear.
- Checkmark Allow me to connect to the selected wireless
network...
- Click on Connect.

- Click on the Windows button in the bottom left corner of
the desktop.
- Click on Connect To.
- Under Select a network to connect to, highlight
tempecafe and click Connect.
- A warning message will be displayed. Click Connect Anyway.
- Once the connection is established, a dialog box will appear.

2. Configure your browser to point
to our proxy server.
Please note your current settings.
You will need to know what they are so that you can reverse these changes to
access other networks once you leave the facility.

- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
- Click the Connections tab.
- Click the LAN Settings button.
- Check the Use a proxy server for your LAN box.
- Enter 164.50.160.202 for the address and 8080 for
the port number.
- Test the connection by connecting to an external site such as
http://www.tempe.gov.

- Open Firefox.
- Click on Tools, click on Options.
- Click on General.
- Under Connection Settings.
- Check the radio button labeled Manual Proxy Configuration
and the box below Use this proxy server for all protocols.
- After HTTP Proxy, enter 164.50.160.202 for the
address and 8080 for the port number and click OK.
- Restart Firefox.
- Test the connection by connecting to an external site such as
http://www.tempe.gov.
