How Do I . . . :
WirelessWireless Printing
Print to Tempe Public Library Printers from your Wireless Computer!
Visitors using the Library tempecafe wireless network inside the Tempe Public
Library building can connect to the
Library’s public printing system. Printouts can be sent to our in-house
printers, and pages can be printed for the same charge that applies to our
in-house computers:
- $.20 per page for black and white prints
- $.75 per page for color prints.
System Requirements:
To use the Library’s print system, a small application must be downloaded and
installed on your computer. Your computer will need to meet these
specifications:
- Windows XP or Vista operating system
- At least 3 MB of available disk space
At this time only devices running Microsoft Windows operating systems are
supported by our wireless print system. Development is currently underway for
support of Macintosh systems.
Download and Install the Print Client:
Instructions are written for Internet Explorer users.

This link will work only if you are already connected to the tempecafe
network.
It will launch an auto-installer and you will see this warning: Do
you want to run or save this file?” At this point you can choose either “Run” or “Save.”
- If you are a regular
visitor to the Library, you may wish to save the program to your computer
and re-launch it on future visits.
- Otherwise, just choose “Run.”
- You will next be asked to verify that you wish to install the print
software.
- At this point choose “Run.”
- Once you install the print software a print client program named “LPT: One
Print Client” will appear on your taskbar, and two “virtual” Library
printers (Black & White and Color) will appear in your printer list.
- Selecting either printer at the time of printing will open a dialog box
asking you to enter a User ID.
- Your User ID can be any name, number,
or word which you will remember when you go to the release station to print
your jobs.
- After you enter a User ID you will get a dialog box detailing the cost
of your printout.
- Retrieve your print job at the print release station near the Reference
Desk on the main floor of the Library.
- When you choose “Stop Print Client” or shut down your computer, the print
software will automatically be removed from your computer.
