Library cardholders can check out a Culture Pass for FREE admission
for up to four people at participating arts and cultural institutions listed
below.
How will the passes be "checked out?"
Visitors will select the venue of their choice from the
display at their participating local library. They will then bring the card
to a customer service desk along with their library card. Their date-due
receipt serves as a voucher for admission .
How many passes may the public check out?
They may check out one pass at a time.
How long will the pass valid?
The pass is valid for 7 days from the time of check-out. It
expires at the end of the day on the date on the slip.
May they use the pass more than once?
The venue will collect their pass when they visit, so it may
be used only once during the 7 day period.
Are the Culture Passes renewable?
Passes are not renewable.
May the public reserve a Culture Pass?
No. Passes will be available on a first-come first-served
basis.
Do the passes need to be returned to the library?
No, library users will hand in their date-due receipt in
exchange for admission at the museum, so there's no need to return it to the
library.
If they have more people than what is allotted on the pass,
do they get free admission on the higher ticket prices?
Yes. The free admission can be redeemed against the highest
price ticket. So, if someone comes with 4 adults and 4 children, they can
pay for just the children.
Will be there restrictions on the Culture Pass?
The pass will cover admission to the venue, but not to
special events/exhibits. Some participating organizations may have a few
select dates when the pass cannot be used. Restrictions will be listed on
both the program and the venue websites.
When will the passes be available?
The Culture Pass will be available to the public beginning
Apr.1, 2009 and up to Mar. 31, 2010.
How may passes will the libraries have?
Each library location will have five passes from each participating
institution.
