Computer Classes
Learn how to download e-books to your Nook,
Sony Reader, Kindle, i-Pad or other handheld devices. There will be a general presentation
and instruction for individual devices.
In collaboration with ASU’s Department of
Information Systems Club (DISC), the Tempe Public Library offers free basic
computer classes. No registration is required.

Basic Computer
This class covers the basics of computing: turning on the computer, opening
programs, as well as an analysis of the hardware and software that are used in
the process.

If you do not have an email account, come and sign up! We will also cover
elements of email providers that will enable us to attach files, and download
pictures.

A powerful tool, we will cover how to do basic web, image, and video
searches. Also included in this class are features of the Internet browser and
how we can use these features to our advantage.

Learn how to use the Internet to find and apply for a job. A librarian
will be available to explain our resources and help you get started in your
online job search. Help will be provided for resumes, email and related
computer skills.
