Join the City of Tempe in an effort to celebrate all things green on Earth Day by participating in a 5K run and expo to raise awareness of environmentally friendly practices.

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008 the race starts at 6:30 pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts and runs along the south bank of Tempe Town Lake. Click here to view race route. Beatles Tribute Band Ringo McLennonson will perform for runners and expo guests. All finishers will receive a flower from KaBloom for their efforts. The first 300 to register will receive a canvas bag to encourage them to stay away from both paper and plastic.
 

Prior to the race there will be a costume contest at 6 pm for those who wish to do the course dressed in a manner to encourage Earth-friendly activities. Run like a bee, a recyclable can or a daisy. Race with Mother Nature and win prizes from Tempe Marketplace. Those who bike to the race will be entered into a special prize drawing and their bikes will be watched in a secure corral.
