Bicycling
Bicycles
are welcome on the 12-foot paths on each side of Town Lake.
The 2.5-
mile courses
on the north and south banks create the
opportunity for a long,
urban, lakeside
ride unlike any other in Arizona.
Paths around Tempe Town Lake are open from sunrise until
midnight
every day
for your riding enjoyment. They are used by parents with
strollers, joggers, dog-
walkers, in-line skaters, kids learning to walk
and
skateboarders. Please watch
your speed and watch for other users
while riding
these paths. |

Walking and Jogging
A scenic walk or jog is an easy pleasure at Tempe Town
Lake. The 2.5-mile lake
has 12-foot concrete paths on each
side of the lake. The
north and south shores
of the lake are
connected by the Mill Avenue
bridges and the Rural Road Bridge;
however, in the future, pedestrian
pathways over the dams will
provide a complete
circuit for those who
wish a longer
jaunt. |

In-Line Skating
Tempe Town Lake was voted the best place to in-line skate
by Get Out Magazine.
With more than four miles of concrete paths on the
north and south banks, lightly
rolling hills and curves, Town Lake is a
convenient place to go skating. Tempe
has two paths around the lake, one for families and
slower walkers, and a second
that is suited for joggers, bicyclists and
skaters.
Whenever skating at Tempe
Town Lake, please be courteous of other path users. |
