Kid Zone Eat Smart, Play Hard
Program Power up to your potential! |
 |
Educating Tempe's Families...
Kid Zone works in partnership with the Arizona Nutrition Network to
bring nutrition education to children and their families. The Eat Smart,
Play Hard nutrition program promotes eating nutritious food and
participating in physical activity. Kid Zone currently has two nutrition instructors who
rotate between schools for two weeks at a time. The program
teaches a variety of components including the food pyramid, healthy
living, food safety/handling, and physical activity. |
|
Instructors
Our goal is to strengthen the Tempe community and its future by
providing knowledge and resources about making healthy choices. Our
instructors travel to twelve sites leading activities that educate
children about MyPyramid, physical activity and food safety. |
Events The Eat Smart, Play Hard
Program hosts several family dinner nights each semester. Parents
can sign up to learn about proper nutrition and food safety while
preparing a delicious meal. |
Classroom Education Our program
partners with the Tempe School District and the Kyrene School
District to bring nutrition education to the classroom. Kid Zone
provides information, resources and supplies as well as guest

styles. |

Meet Bobby B. Well |
 |
Bobby B. Well is a kid who loves to skateboard,
play in the park with his dog, eat tons of vegetables and help parents
and kids make healthy choices. He knows that healthy eating and having
fun can go together. |
|
Eat Smart, Play Hard Program and Bobby B. encourage children and their
families to participate in regular physical activity. Children
who participate in one hour of daily physical activity become healthier!
These children are less likely to miss school, learn more in class, and
grow into healthy adults! Kid Zone children
learn the importance of stretching, maintaining healthy heart rates, and
drinking plenty of water . |
 |
|
 |
Bobby B. Well reminds us that the only difference between and fat free,
1%, 2% and whole milk is the amount of fat. All the vitamins, calcium
and protein in whole milk are also in fat free or 1% milk. These
nutrients are needed for strong bones and teeth, maintaining normal
blood pressure and for good health in children and adults. Go Low!!!! |
|
|
Everyone knows that eating fruits and vegetables is an important part of a
healthy diet. Bobby B. says that getting at least 5 servings of fruits
and vegetables is one of the best ways to prevent cancer, heart disease
and stroke. For FREE, easy to prepare recipes call 1-800-695-3335 or
