The Kid Zone Enrichment
Program is a dynamic community response to changing lifestyles and needs of
families in Tempe, Arizona. Our goal is to address the increased
number of children needing a safe, enriching place to be in out-of-school time.
The program is for children
in grades K-5 at the same site where the child attends school.
Kid Zone operates 19 after school and 16 morning
sites in Tempe. This program differs from many traditional before and after
school programs in that it offers more than supervision. In addition to snack,
homework assistance, and learning centers, children have the choice to participate in enrichment classes
at no additional fee.
Examples of enrichment classes that may be offered include foreign
language, soccer, cooking, computers, science, math,
multi-cultural, yoga, and nutrition.
Kid Zone operates full day camps for the Fall, Winter, and Spring breaks. Many of the program sites
expand into full day camps during the summer.
