
SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, prepares and issues golf carts to patrons, picks up golf balls from the driving range, refills ball machine and performs overall cleaning of pro shop and cart storage areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
_ Assists patrons in the use of golf course, golf carts and driving range;
_ Checks carts for damage or mechanical problems;
_ Removes trash, cleans carts and recharges cart batteries as needed;
_ Schedules golf carts for servicing and assists mechanics with repairs;
_ Picks up flags, water jugs and other removable amenities placed out for the golf patron;
_ Keeps records on charging, maintenance and breakdowns of carts;
_ Replaces non-operating carts on courses as needed;
_ Cleans and maintains cart shed;
_ Assists customers by answering routine questions about inventory;
_ Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of:
_ use and care of a variety of golf carts and cleaning equipment;
_ safety hazards involved in golf cart maintenance activities;
_ materials and equipment used in cleaning and keeping buildings or equipment neat and sanitary;
_ cleaning fluids, chemicals, cleaning agents or similar solutions using only normal protective equipment to maintain golf equipment, buildings or related infrastructure.
Skill in:
_ detecting needed golf cart repairs and making necessary adjustments;
_ using common hand tools such as screw drivers or similar tools;
_ working cooperatively with other City employees and the public, often in stressful situations;
_ working safely without presenting a direct threat to incumbent or others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements. There is need to stand, stoop, walk and lift heavy objects (over 100 pounds) during the course of the workday.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year customer service or golf cart maintenance experience. Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: An employee in this class is required to live within fifteen (15) miles of the City limits, and within the United States.
