Division is made up of the Central City Bureau, Homeland Defense Bureau,
Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Special Investigations Bureau.
Each Bureau has a unique and separate function with the Tempe Police
Department.

Homeland Defense |

The mission of the Tempe Police Department Homeland Defense Bureau is to ensure
the safety and security of the City's critical infrastructure against natural
and man-made incidents. This will be accomplished through pre-incident
preparation and by utilizing partnerships made with various law enforcement
agencies and private business. | |

Criminal Investigations |

Criminal Investigations is made up of seven details that handle a variety of
cases. These responsibilities include the in-depth investigation of
financial, property, homicide / missing persons crimes, sex offender
notification, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), assault / domestic
violence / auto theft, robbery and pawnshop activity. The Criminal
Investigations Bureau also serves as liaison with the County Attorney's Office,
FBI, and other outside law enforcement agencies. | |
