Transit and street closure info. for the Women’s Half Marathon

Several downtown Tempe streets closed or restricted for the Women’s Half Marathon. The following streets will be restricted or closed Nov. 4 from 6 a.m. until approximately 12 p.m.

 
• College Avenue will be closed southbound between McKellips Road and Curry Road.
• Curry Road will be closed westbound between College Avenue and Mill Avenue.
• Mill Avenue will be closed southbound between Washington Street and Rio Salado Parkway. All southbound traffic will be required to turn right onto westbound Washington Street.
• Mill Avenue is closed northbound between Curry Road and the Rolling Hills Golf Course driveway.
• Mill Avenue will be restricted to one lane northbound between Rio Salado Parkway and Curry Road. All northbound traffic will be required to turn right onto eastbound Curry Road.
• Rio Salado Parkway will be closed westbound between Mill Avenue and Priest Drive. All westbound traffic will be required to turn north (detoured at Curry Road) or south onto Mill Avenue.
• Rio Salado Parkway will be closed eastbound between Priest Drive and Mill Avenue. All eastbound traffic will be required to turn right onto southbound Priest Drive.
• Ash Avenue will be closed northbound at 3rd Street. All traffic will be required to turn right onto eastbound 3rd Street.
• 1st Street will be closed eastbound between Farmer Avenue and Ash Avenue.
• Hardy Drive will be closed northbound between 1st Street and Rio Salado Parkway. Access to the Tempe Center for the Arts will be granted on a limited basis.
• 1st Street will be closed westbound at Rio Salado Parkway.
• Priest Drive will be closed northbound between Rio Salado Parkway and Washington Street. All northbound traffic will be required to turn left onto westbound Rio Salado Parkway.
• Washington Street will be closed eastbound between Priest Drive and Mill Avenue. All traffic will be required to turn north or south. Access to “The Lofts” apartment complex will be granted on a limited basis and will only be accessible by U-turn from westbound Washington Street to eastbound Washington Street at Center Parkway.
• Center Parkway will be closed southbound between Washington Street and westbound SR202L exit-ramp.
• All traffic exiting the SR202L eastbound at Priest Drive will be required to turn south onto Priest Drive.
• All traffic exiting the SR202L westbound at Center Parkway/Priest Drive will be required to turn northbound onto Center Parkway and then detoured onto westbound Washington Street.
• There will be no access to the SR202L eastbound on-ramp from Priest Drive or from Center Parkway.


The following bus detours will occur Nov. 4 from the start of service until approximately 12 p.m.

48 Northbound – Regular route east on Rio Salado Pkwy. to Priest Dr.; south on Priest Dr. to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Ash Ave.; north on Ash Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route.

48 Southbound – Regular route west on 5th St. to Ash Ave.; south on Ash Ave. to University Dr.; west on University Dr. to Priest Dr.; north on Priest Dr. to Rio Salado Pkwy.; west on Rio Salado Pkwy. to resume regular route.

56 Northbound – Regular route north on Priest Dr. to University Dr.; west on University Dr. to SR-143; north on SR-143 to Washington St.; east on Washington St. to Priest Dr.; north on Priest Dr. to resume regular route.

62 Northbound – Regular route east on 1st St. to Farmer Ave.; south on Farmer Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route at Ash Ave.

Earth Eastbound – From Tempe Transportation Center; east on 5th St/Veterans Way to 6th St.; east on 6th St. to Rural Rd.; north on Rural Rd./Scottsdale Rd. to resume regular route at Weber Dr.

Earth Westbound – Regular route south on Scottsdale Rd. to Weber Dr.; continue south on Scottsdale Rd./Rural Rd. to 6th St.; west on 6th St. to Veterans Way; west on Veterans Way/5th St. to Tempe Transportation Center.
