Tempe Native takes new post with Office of the Naval Inspector General

July 15, 2013(FHTNC)--Navy Capt. Denise E. Stich, daughter of Bonnie C. and Darrell W. Edson of Tempe, Ariz., relinquished her duties as Commanding Officer, Region Legal Service Office Mid-Atlantic Norfolk, Va. to Capt. David G. Wilson in a change of command ceremony.

As the Commanding Officer Stich supported fleet operational readiness by providing high-quality legal services to commands and authorized personnel including Sailors and their families.

Some of her awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and several campaign and unit awards.

Stich's next duty station will be Navy Legal Service Command, Office of the Naval Inspector General, Washington Navy Yard, DC.

Stich is a 1986 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. with a BS degree. Stich was commissioned an ensign in the Navy in May 1986. She is a 2000 graduate of the University of San Diego, San Diego, Calif., with a master of law in international law, and a 1993 graduate of Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif., with a JD degree.
