Over the next few weeks, community high schools will be celebrating Prom Night and Grad Night. Both of these tradition-filled occasions promise to deliver lasting memories for all the students in attendance.

The Tempe Police Department and Tempe schools partner throughout the year to keep kids safe. This Mock DUI Assembly was coordinated to raise awareness on how special events can be tarnished by teenagers driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Tempe Police and Corona del Sol High School will be staging a full-scale re-enactment of a serious accident caused by students who made the wrong decisions, resulting in the most tragic of consequences.

Mock DUI Collision Assembly
May 2nd, at 9:00 a.m.
Corona del Sol Football Stadium
1001 E. Knox Rd. Tempe.

Tempe Police, Tempe Fire Department, Tempe’s CARE 7, the Corona del Sol Drama Club, SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions), and Student Council, PMT Ambulance, AirEvac, Phoenix St. Luke’s Hospital, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers), FAST and Shamrock Towing, and Carr-Tenney Mortuary will be participating to make the event as realistic and impactful as possible.

We encourage members of the media to attend this event. Our hope is that, by bringing attention to this very serious subject in this dramatic but realistic scenario, students and young adults in our community will be encouraged to make wise choices and avoid the dangers of underage drinking and driving.
