The men and women of the Tempe Police Department thank the hundreds of community members who took the opportunity to shred personal documents safely at our free Shred-It event last weekend.
Thank you so much for your generous donations to Arizona's Special Olympics!
Tempe Police are once again hosting a spring Document Shredding Event to help prevent identity theft.
The event is free, and will provide support to the Special Olympics through donations for those who are able to give. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in support of the athletes’ great skills and courage.
Community members are encouraged to safely dispose of up to (5) boxes/bags of no-longer-needed personal documents that could lead to identity theft in criminal hands. Please note that this event is designed for individuals and families in the community; we are not set up to handle large loads of business documents.
Thanks to the continued support of Shred-It Company, this event is free to community members. Donations for the non-profit organization Special Olympics will be accepted, and a receipt provided. Each year, the Tempe Police Department salutes the courageous competitors of the Special Olympics during the upcoming annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, and this is just one additional way Tempe Police can support these great athletes.
