TEMPE, Ariz. – Local businesses, organizations, co-workers, neighbors and friends are invited to gather a group and enjoy a little friendly competition in the new Tempe Town Lake Corporate Rowing League.
Beginning in April, the 7-week rowing league will introduce rowing to new participants, teach the basics of the sport and allow rowers to show off their skills in a league championship regatta. All skill levels are welcome and teams can have as few as 10 participants with a maximum of 20.
The program, which had its first session in Fall 2012, is a great opportunity as participants experience an exciting recreational program that fosters teambuilding and fitness, making companies healthier and more productive workplaces.
There are two sessions to choose from to fit in your busy schedule. Sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-7:45 p.m. There is a $1,000 fee per team. Classes begin on Monday, April 1 or Tuesday April 2. There will be a mandatory introduction meeting and float test on the first day.
The deadline to register teams is on Monday, March 25. To register, contact Okie O’Connor, Tempe Boating Coordinator, at 480-350-8034 or
