Help the environment by recycling your used athletic shoes. The City of Tempe, in partnership with the Arizona Recycling Coalition, and the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program, will collect and recycle used athletic shoes. The soles of the athletic shoes are ground up and recycled into playing surfaces. Any brands of athletic shoes with NO cleats, spikes or high heels will be accepted. Please remove the metal eyelets from the shoes. By recycling athletic shoes you are diverting what is taken to the landfill and capture a valuable resource.
For more information call (480) 350-8145 or visit Nike Reuse-A-Shoe.
